Directors are appointed by the shareholders of a Company for the management of a Company. A Private Limited Company is required to have a minimum of two Directors and a Limited Company is required to have a minimum of three Directors. There are many categories/types under which a Director can be appointed in a Company (such as Director. Managing Director, Whole-time Director, Alternate Director, Nominee Director, Additional Director).
Similarly, a Director may get removed from his/her office of directorship due to many reasons (such as Death, Retirement, Resignation, Disqualification, Vacation of office, Removal etc.)
On the other hand, a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) has Designated Partners and Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 requires each LLP to have a minimum of two Designated Partners.
